We’ve compiled a list of some our favorite gift ideas that support health and wellness. Add them to your wish list or buy them for a friend or loved one!
Walking pad - Earlier this year clients were telling me that they used a walking pad for exercise. I honestly had no idea what they were talking about! I consulted with Google and quickly fell in love with the lightweight, easy to store, stripped down treadmills. Walking pads are more affordable than a full size treadmill and are perfect for walking at a slow to moderate pace. Many clients use them with a standing desk to increase their step count while working!
Grippy socks for yoga, Pilates, and barre - Don’t let cold feet stop you from doing your favorite barefoot workouts! These socks are perfect to grip your yoga mat (or any surface) and keep your feet warm.
EatingWell cookbooks - I grew up leafing through EatingWell magazines (sadly, no longer in publication) and now use their recipes all the time. If you’re a client we’ve probably shared one or two of them with you. The Essential Cookbook from EatingWell is a great all around option. Check out their themed recipe collections in their other cookbooks, too.
Footnanny foot cream - If it’s good enough for Oprah’s favorite things, it’s good enough for our wishlist! This luxurious cream helps with cracked, dry feet and is marketed to people with diabetes but can be used by all. Who doesn’t need a little extra foot care this winter?
Gift card for acupuncture treatments or a massage - I’ve always been a huge fan of massages but felt like the benefit didn’t last more than a day or two. Now I’m doing acupuncture on a monthly basis and it’s worked wonders for my chronic neck and shoulder pain. Oh, and by the way…. many acupuncturists take insurance!
Singing sound bowls can be used as a tool for meditation and relaxation. Check out what they sound like and feel your stress melt away.
“What To Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking” , by Caroline Chambers - This brand new cookbook is on my Christmas list this year because I’ve been struggling to find the desire to cook dinner on many occasions. I'm hoping it inspires me!
CBD muscle rub - We’ve got aches and pains and plenty of complaints about aging at our house. CBD muscle rub helps us to simmer down and makes muscle aches feel better fast.
Foam roller - If one of your health goals is to be more active you may want to use a foam roller to relieve muscle soreness after workouts. It feels intimidating when you’re just getting started, but it’s so very helpful!
Nodpod Sleep Mask - Good sleep in the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. This sleep mask is soft and it’s weighted, like a weighted blanket for your eyes. Give it a try and let us know if it leads to sweet dreams.
Stocking stuffers
I first grabbed a bag of Skinny Dipped nuts in the checkout line at Starbucks. The sweet, chocolatey flavor combined with the filling powder of crunchy almonds hit just right. With just enough sugar added to make it sweet, this yummy little snack doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions.
Liquid IV electrolyte powder saved me when I returned from an overseas trip with a not so nice souvenir. Stomach trouble left me SO dehydrated. These little packets mixed into my water bottle perked me up a bit. Does the average person need to use this every day? No. Is it recommended for most people to use it regularly? No. But winter is here and those germs are mixing and mingling, keep this on hand just in case!
We wish you a healthy and happy holiday season!
