Reducing alcohol in your diet with Reframe

Please note that I am not affiliated with Reframe in any way and receive no financial gain from this post.

Reframe is an app that caught my eye while I was scrolling through one of my feeds. Given that many clients struggle with cutting down on alcohol, my interest was piqued. I checked out the content and reviews (very highly rated) and saw they offer a one-week free trial. Perfect.

While I do enjoy the occasional margarita or Belgian beer, I can count the number of drinks I have per month on one hand. So I used my imagination and set up the profile to reflect an imaginary client that is drinking six drinks per week and wants to get down to two per week. The main reasons for cutting back are to improve sleep and lose weight. This helps Reframe to customize the advice they give during your daily check-in.

The app is easy to use and it takes less than 5 minutes each day to tap your way through motivational quotes, compelling scientific evidence, and reflecting on your “why”. You’ll also log each alcohol drink you have on any given day.

Optional resources for community support, challenges, and courses and workshops are available, as well. This app is not over the top with notifications and it’s really interesting to learn the science behind how alcohol impacts your body. Currently, pricing is $13.99/month or $79.99/year. By the looks of things, if this client is successful, she’ll have some extra cash on hand soon enough.

I plan to recommend this resource to clients who want to cut back on drinking because it’s personal, accessible, science-based, and informative. This is not a treatment plan for someone with alcohol use disorder (alcoholism), however. For help with alcohol use disorder, call 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
