Goal setter, goal getter

If you follow us on social media you know that I’ve been working on establishing a regular yoga routine.  Let’s use my goal to discuss some of the elements that are critical to goal setting and goal getting.

Goal: Do five minutes (or more!) of yoga five days per week throughout September.

  •  Is it S.M.A.R.T.? Your goal should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time bound. My goal is indeed S.M.A.R.T!

  • Connect your goal with an existing habit/routine. What’s something I do every day? When I come downstairs from putting my daughter to bed, I’ll do my yoga session.

  • Identify your why and your motivators. Why am I doing this?  I want to age well and have good balance and flexibility. My “why” is an internal motivator, but having an external motivator beyond myself is so helpful. I shared my progress on social media with an external audience.

  • Revisit and revise goal as needed. Now that we’re nearing the end of September, I intend to do yoga throughout the week and would like one session to be a 20 or 30 minute session.

We are here to help you SET and GET your health goals. Are you ready?
