Inspiration! Pop-up cooking demos

Feeling like you could use a little inspiration when deciding what to make for dinner? We have to eat, and it’s every day, and it’s multiple times a day. If you are the primary meal maker at your house, you know what I’m talking about - it can be exhausting!

To help relieve the grind of meal planning and meal making we are providing inspiration in the form of pop-up cooking demos on Facebook Live. These five minute (or less!) demos feature easy meal ideas to break up the usual routine. Follow and like us on Facebook as we share recipes throughout the fall.

You’ll find an updated list of the recipes right here, as we add more!

Recipes

10/12/22 demo Slow cooker Thai vegetarian curry – Use light coconut milk to save on fat and calories and feel free to be flexible with the veggies you use.  We made our batch in a crockpot on high for three and half hours and it was great, any longer and it might have been too mushy.

10/16/22 demo Pesto chicken - We love the red and the green pesto from Aldi’s and use it on so many things! You can make this with sliced mozzarella cheese or sprinkle on a pinch or two of shredded cheese if you’re looking for a lower fat option.

10/24/22 demo Inspired by Rachael Ray’s pumpkin soup, we created our own healthier spin on this savory soup. We doubled up on the beans and substituted evaporated milk for the heavy cream.

11/1/22 demo Sheet pan meals are where it’s at when you need a balanced meal ASAP. Our personal favorite is this shrimp fajita recipe. We use Trader Joe’s chili lime seasoning as a shortcut, rather than measuring out a bunch of spices.

11/8/22 demo Instant Pot Honey bourbon chicken. Please, cut down the honey to 1/2 cup, 1 cup is way too sweet! We use reduced sodium soy sauce and water it down a little bit to reduce sodium.

11/15/22 demo Our inspiration for an autumn salad was leftover turkey tenderloin, sweet potatoes that were ready to be used, and a love of fall. To make this a high protein vegan salad double up on nuts and seeds.

11/21/22 demo Cheesesteak stuffed peppers are a flexible meal - use any type of meat and veggies. Prep ahead and pop in the oven later! We serve ours with some slices of toasty bread so you still get some carbs in this meal, but not as nearly much as you would get if you ate entire sub roll.
