I tried Factor meals
I am not affiliated with nor am I receiving monetary compensation from Factor Meals.
It’s an exciting day for me, I just got my first Factor delivery of 10 fresh (refrigerated) meals that are ready to heat and eat. I’ve been recommending Factor meals to clients looking for a healthy meal delivery option for awhile now. Two things came together in my world to convince me to finally place an order.
First, a client gave me feedback on her experience with Factor meals - she said she’ll never cook dinner again, it’s so easy and so good. Impressive! Now a return from vacation right before the school year starts (all during a kitchen renovation!) lead me to place an order. You all know I’m frugal so the offer of 50% off on the first delivery was right up my alley.
What we ate
I ordered a little bit of everything and the top three favorites from what our family tasted are…
Chicken and Mushroom Tetrazzini with Garlicky Green Beans was my favorite. The biggest thing that separates this meal from a frozen meal is that the texture of each food was perfect. The green beans were crisp-tender, not mushy. The pasta tasted like it was just prepared. At 540 calories it left me feeling a little hungry, but shortly after the meal the hunger passed.
Cavatappi and Italian Style Pork Ragu with Broccoli was my six year old’s favorite. She polished of the noodles and sauce in no time but struggled with the broccoli because it was more seasoned than how I prepare it. I will say it was tricky selecting meals that she would eat, so if you’ve got some kiddos to feed keep that in mind.
Black Pepper and Sage Pork Chop with Smoked Cheddar Brussels Sprouts and Creamy Broccoli was the tastiest meal my husband had and he also commented on the texture of the different foods being just right. At 670 calories he didn’t really feel full, even though the meal had a whopping 45 grams of protein in it!
Will I continue to recommend Factor Meals?
Absolutely! While any prepared meal or convenience food will be high in sodium, Factor meals does a good job with other nutrition stats. Meals were between 500-700 calorie and were moderate in carbs, high in protein, and included vegetables.
I’ve had plenty of client feedback on the quality and ease of these meals and now I’ve experienced them for myself. While paying full price for these meals ongoing is not in our budget, at about 10 dollars a meal it’s still a steal over dining out and much more nutritious than many quick serve meals.
